Educational Tour: Legacy 1995, University of Lagos visit to the National Theatre Iganmu.

A group of 70 Masters students from the University of Lagos embarked on an enriching educational tour to the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos. The visit, which included a special interaction with the Legacy 1995 group, offered students a unique opportunity to delve into Nigeria’s cultural tapestry.

Legacy 1995, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Nigeria’s rich cultural and historical heritage, continues to be a beacon of hope for the nation’s past. Through research, conservation, and community engagement, Legacy 1995 is working tirelessly to protect and promote Nigeria’s invaluable historical monuments and environmental treasures.

With a focus on raising awareness and inspiring future generations, the organization has been instrumental in numerous heritage preservation projects across the country.

The Organisation was delighted to share its story and insights with the aspiring scholars. The group emphasized the significance of monuments and museums in preserving Nigeria’s rich heritage.

Captivated by the students’ enthusiasm, Legacy 1995 presented gifts to eight exceptional Master students as a token of appreciation. Furthermore, a rare stamp was gifted to the tour facilitators from Cappa & D’Alberto PLC in recognition of their efforts in organizing the educational tour.

Cappa & D’Alberto PLC, a leading engineering and construction firm, has secured a significant contract for the renovation of the National Theatre. The company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable projects aligns with the government’s development agenda and the mindset of stakeholders of the national monument.

In a collaborative initiative between the University of Lagos, Legacy 1995, and Cappa & D’Alberto PLC, the importance of fostering cultural awareness among the younger generation was a focus for this Educational Tour. The visit to the National Theatre, coupled with the engagement with Legacy 1995, proved to be an invaluable experience for the students.
